The complete minute-track has a length of 205mm and the minute hand makes 3 revolutions in 60 minutes, because of this the hand „cross“ the minute-track 4 times in 60 minutes.

Description , if the minute hand is on a crossing point 
If the hand is exactly on a crossing point, (here left picture  at 08h 11), then you see from the form that the hand is in the silver coloured section of the minute track. If you are still not sure in which
section the hand is located (10-15 silver or 45-50  copper) and you do not want to wait 20 seconds, then the silver marking on the movement, to which the hand points, shows that it is in the silver 
coloured
section of the minute track. (between 10 and 15),  i.e. at 08h11

Left picture:   The hand points to the silver coloured marking on the movement, means the hand is over the silver coloured section of the minute-track.   8h11
Right picture: The hand points to the copper coloured marking on the movement, means the hand is over  the copper coloured section of the minute-track.   8h49
